Rolfing, Horses and Tantra brought me into the world of healing touch, yet Tantra is where I began to consciously play with the sensory body. Connections seemed to fall into place - my Tantra teacher, Dawn had studied Continuum with Emilie another teacher of mine, known as a somatic pioneer. Over the years, a sensory based focus became more central as I began to work with it as direct embodied awareness across my own healing spectrum. It’s simple but highly creative. So this is for those of us who are personally drawn to a dynamic experience over sitting meditation and mindfulness - we are movement meditators with connection through self and relational touch, creative movement and dance. It’s a large spectrum that can incorporate the visual arts, music, performing, etc. We can come into embodied awareness in relation to anything! It’s not mindfulness, it’s sensual experience.

I have encountered many waves of animals crossing my path for rescue to heal, home or comfortably die. In the early 90s I spent several years doing cat rescue and adoption work. I started adoption pens at the local pet store, which was ultimately bought by a chain and then began to work with two major chains to establish their adoption pens. This was a labor of love and was when I began to actively support wounded wildlife as well. Only in the last few years have I come to understand that one of my roles is to support animals as a healer and transition guide. When I look back there are so many stories, but it took several years to connect the dots as a healer.

Many moons ago, during a trip to Bali I realized that nature was my spiritual place. Drawn into the deep woods to be with the trees, the creeks, the mud, the stones, the moss, the flowers, the bugs and all, I found more aliveness, love and community.  Many health benefits have been documented through ‘Forest Bathing’, while nature as intelligence is a vitally emergent topic. This symbiotic relationship is now more than ever essential to us as individuals and the whole.
